Full scoring rules
1. Winning the set
First to 6 games wins the set, but you have to be up by 2.
- 6–4 or better: set over.
- 6–5: not over yet. Play one more game.
- That makes it 7–5 (set over) or 6–6 (tiebreak).
2. The tiebreak at 6–6
Instead of another game, you play a tiebreak to decide the set. Count points 1, 2, 3 (not 15, 30, 40).
- First to 7 points wins, but you have to be up by 2.
- 7–4 wins. 7–6 keeps going, until 8–6, 9–7 and so on.
- Win the tiebreak and you win the set 7–6.
Serving in the tiebreak
- Whoever would have served the next game serves the first point.
- Then your opponent serves the next 2 points, then you serve 2, and so on.
- Switch ends every 6 points (at 6 points played, 12, 18...).
Easy way to remember: 1 serve, then 2 each.
The golden point at the second deuce and the 50-minute time cap are on the tournament page.
