Sunday, October 11 · Richmond time

Plan for 9 a.m.–noon

Allow about 30 minutes per match, including up to five minutes of warm-up. Play to the winning score; matches are not stopped by a timer. Each advancing player gets at least 30 minutes of rest after finishing. Later starts move back when needed, so noon is an estimated finish.

Check in and draw

Meet Marissa at the tennis courts. Confirm eight players, two available courts, the draw and scoring before play.

First quarterfinals

QF1 on Court A · QF3 on Court B

Remaining quarterfinals

QF2 on Court A · QF4 on Court B, once the earlier matches finish.

Semifinals

SF1 on Court A · SF2 on Court B. Both players in each match must have had 30 minutes of rest.

Final

The semifinal winners meet on Court A, after at least 30 minutes of rest each.

Expected finish

Allow extra time if courts are busy or matches run long.

Court access is not guaranteed

Belmont is first come, first served; no courts are reserved for this tournament. The schedule needs two available courts and eight players. If either is missing, Marissa needs to confirm a revised plan with the players before starting. Follow posted court-sharing rules. Wet or unsafe courts mean play pauses.

How scoring works

  • One short set per match, including the final. First to four games wins. At 3–3, play a tiebreak; its winner takes the set 4–3.
  • No-ad games: at deuce, one deciding point. The receiver chooses which side to receive from.
  • Tiebreak: first to seven points, win by two. The next server serves one point, then players alternate two serves each. Change ends every six points.
  • Use normal singles court lines and service rules. Toss for first serve, alternate servers after each game, and change ends after odd-numbered games. Replay service lets.
  • Both players agree the score and report it to Marissa after each match. The winner advances along the bracket; record the finish time so the next round allows 30 minutes of rest.

Before you arrive

  • Bring your racquet, court shoes, water and balls. Arrive at 8:45 a.m. for check-in.
  • Already joined under the earlier 9–11 a.m. plan? The event now uses a knockout bracket and plans to finish around noon. Contact Lobby if that changes your availability; account signups can cancel in My Tennis.
  • Check this page and My Tennis for organizer updates before travelling. Contact Lobby if the forecast or court conditions leave you unsure.
